Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first black Greek letter organization, was established in 1908. The Sorority was founded on the principles of service to all mankind. The first scholarship was presented in 1914 on the belief that if we assist young people in their effort to acquire an education, they will use their skills and knowledge to help others.
Gamma Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has been in existence since 1970. We have awarded thousands of dollars to graduating high school seniors who will be pursing higher education from High Schools in the community that we serve. Gamma Omega Omega Chapter hosts fundraisers throughout the year to fund the scholarships that we provide to students in our community.
Interested graduating high school seniors from the following schools: La Marque, Texas City, Dickinson, & Hitchcock High Schools are eligible to apply for our scholarship. There are certain criteria that have to met to be in consideration to receive this scholarship. The application must be postmarked by April 5, 2024. Applicant may mail in their application to our address or provide to a member of Gamma Omega Omega.

- 2 Reference Letters from teachers, counselors, or coaches
- SEALED high school transcript
- 500 Word Essay - "What are you educational/academic goals and how will this scholarship help you achieve them?"
- Headshot
- Signed media release form
